Sparkle was bred to the AKC tiny 6 lb very rare Lavender color, Turquoise eyed, Imperial Shih Tzu
"SDP Yoda the Alien" for their first litter of Shihpoo (Shih Tzu / Poodle) puppies expected March 11th!
Yoda is our Little Prince Charming! Adorable baby doll face, and gorgeous turquiose blue eyes! Take a look at him on his page. We have high hopes for some very beautiful, non-shedding, hypo-allergenic, and beautifully colored ShihPoo puppies! We are pretty excited about them! His puppies with Sparkle will registered with CKC.

 A little about the "ShihPoo" - Mini Poodle / Imperial Shih Tzu Hybrid:

I thought about this particular Poodle / Imperial Shih Tzu hybrid cross long and hard before I decided to go with them. They have turned out exactly how I expected they would! I am tickled to death! The Yorkipoo is very popular but also usually fairly high energy level. Many folks would prefer just a little bit less active - more a medium energy level. That is why I breed the Imperial Shih Tzu with the Toy Poodle.
You probably already know that there is no dog more loving than the ancient Poodle breed, with only one breed possibly smarter (the Border Collie). Also, in the poodle, there is NO stubborn streak, (Imagine that - if our children or husbands could be only that way!!) making the poodle one of the most popular breeds for centuries.

I, unlike most other breeders, use the "Imperial" Shih Tzu as the father dog. Yoda is much smaller than the regular Shih Tzu, (half the size) and has the leaner body shape of a Yorkie really instead of the longer, rounder belly of the regular Shih Tzu. Take a look at him on his web page. I can hardly say enough about what a sweet, loving, cuddly, and calm fellow he is.
This cross produces exactly what I want - a hearty hybrid with the sweet, loving, playful, medium energy, cuddly, soft wavy to curly haired, willing to please, sturdy dog that only weighs between 5-10 pounds.
I think these puppies are an exceptional breed that will be great family dogs for folks either with children of any age, or no children at all! I am pretty darn sure that all will like them!! :)

 A little about the Miniature Poodle:

Identical to the Standard and Toy Poodle except in height, the Mini Poodle is a sweet, sensitive little dog who make perfect pets for a person who has time to pamper these natural little clowns and be amused by their quaint antics. Well proportioned and squarely built, the Mini Poodle was bred down from the Standard Poodle. They are an intelligent breed with a delicate disposition and are very easy to train. Poodles are delightful, good natured, and lively dogs. The Poodle makes an excellent family pet who will adapt to any situation and will try anything an owner wants. Poodles are an efficient choice for the owner who wants an obedient dog. They are affectionate with their family, a little wary with strangers, but still accepting of them. They love to be around family and friends, and get along well with other animals and children. They come in any color, and have very curly, thick fur. Not only do they have an winning personality, but their hypoallergenic coat is non-shedding. (as are all my dog breeds) Poodles are bright, perky little dogs. Responsive, alert, sensitive and eager to please describes this breed.

The Poodle rates very high as a watch-dog. These dogs are highly alert and will let you know if something unusual is happening. Their Learning rate is also Very High. Poodles are very intelligent. Obedience - Very High. Problem Solving - Very High. They are extremely intelligent and very obedient. There are not very many breeds that rate this high in everything. This is why the Poodle has been such a popular breed for so many generations.
