Shorkie Tzu
Shih Tzu - Yorkshire Terrier Hybrid |
"GIZMO" is a Shorkie Tzu or a registered Yorkshire Terrier
/ Shih-Tzu Hybrid.
This is one of my stud dogs. He is only about 8 weeks old here, and 7
months in the lower pictures. He is a pretty hearty little fellow. He
is “Mr Personality” , has never met a stranger, and is the
life of the party where ever he goes especially if there are kids around!
He enjoys trail rides with the horses. chasing cows with the big dogs,
boating & swimming in the Ohio River. Everything is “his favorite!”.
He is only 7 lbs! |

This “Shorkie Tzu” hybrid designer dog is an example of the advantages
of cross breeding for the hybrid vigor. Non-shedding & non-allergenic, he
has all the wonderful qualities of both the Yorkshire Terrier & the Shih-Tzu
combined with the superior genetic constitution & much better chance of
long lasting health. I breed him with my other Shorkie Tzu, “Camo”.

THE SHIH-TZU - A little about the breed:
Shih Tzus are gentle, loyal, and proud. They may appear arrogant, but are very friendly and affectionate. They love to play ball and will chase anything you throw for them. Shih Tzus are trusting, companionable, and get along with everyone, generally. They are lively, alert and energetic outside. They are very people oriented, vivacious and athletic. The Shih Tzu makes a very pleasing companion and will be obedient if trained.
They love children & the Shih Tzu gets along well with other animals.
As a watch dog the Shih Tzu rates very high. They are rather alert. As a guard dog they rate quite a bit lower. Although alert, Shih Tzus remain quite friendly, even to strangers!...
They somewhat resemble Ewoks from the movie Star Wars. They are one of the most gentle, soft, quiet little dogs I have ever known.
Despite their small size the Shih Tzu is a confident and dignified breed.
They have a long life span 12-14 years.

THE YORKIE - A little about the breed:
Yorkshire Terriers may be tiny but they are a big-dog in a little-dog package. The Yorkie is an intelligent and affectionate pet. They get along with everyone. Yorkshire Terriers are compact in size, sweet in nature and cheerful in character. They are good with children & other pets. Energetic & spunky, this feisty little breed has a lot of energy to use. Fortunately a small amount of room is needed for this! The ultimate lap dog, they bring laughter & companionship to any home.
Special Skills: Rat & mouse catcher - no more having to set those yucky mouse traps!
These dogs, like most smaller dogs, live a long life span of 15 years
Lively and spirited, the Yorkshire Terrier is no wimp. Although small, they are still terriers! They can be scrappy & courageous. A good watchdog, they do sound the alarm if the need be, and though small can be hardy. They are devoted & brave. (They do not know they are little! )
There is something different and quizzical about the look on a Yorkie’s face when you talk to it that can’t be compared with any other dog. The way their little ears twitch & turn with every word, and fall back when you scold them, gives a clue to the intelligence of this little guy. Yorkies have a way of crouching down on their front paws while keeping their hind end up in the air that makes me laugh each and every time I see it! Wonderful, lovable little creatures, it is no wonder the Yorkshire Terrier is always in the top 10, usually the top 1 or 2 most popular dogs in the world!
Some folks say “They are kind of like potato chips; You can’t have just one”! (keep in mind the cost of shipping for 2 puppies is no more that the costs for shipping one!) |
